Marie Stopes Society (MSS) is a Pakistani NGO, registered under the Societies Act, 1860 since 1990. MSS operates as a social enterprise that caters to the reproductive health and family planning needs of the underserved in Pakistan by providing high quality, affordable family planning (FP) services.
MSS, is one of the leading private sector service providers for family planning services in Pakistan. MSS not only operates at scale, but maintains a service quality benchmark for other in-country service providers to aspire towards. MSS has strong partnerships with government bodies working towards common reproductive health (RH) goals. It is an integral part of the Government’s FP2020 Task Force in Sind and Punjab which is committed to increasing the Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR) to 50% by the year 2020.
The MSS vision is improved reproductive health of people in Pakistan, with a mission to be the leading, effective and enduring contributor towards improved reproductive health of the people in Pakistan. To this end, MSS aims to increase access to a comprehensive set of family planning, post abortion care, and other sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Furthermore, MSS aims to empower women to make decisions about their sexual and reproductive health by providing them with information about FP/RH, offering free and subsidized services, and using behaviour change communication to increase their personal agency.
